A proposed development of light industrial units on a very confined site.
During the planning process the feasibility of the scheme proposals required the evaluation of a flood risk assessment in respect of the site, which following initial consultation with the Environment Agency necessitated the flood level modelling of an adjacent watercourse to establish flood risk. With the benefit of the FRA, which established the drainage strategy and further consultation with the Environment Agency resulted in the gaining of Planning Permission.
Once planning approval was granted our brief included the detailed design of the sub-surface storm and foul drainage systems complying with the FRA. Along with the superstructure and foundation design for the units, which with the ground floor level on one unit some 2.5m above neighbouring site levels required substantial ‘internal’ retaining wall with foundation spread limited to site boundary.
