Fire Damage

Within the wide ranging and extensive number of fire damaged reinstatement projects handled by the practice a number have Grade l or ll listing. The Public House owned by Punch Taverns (Grade II listing) suffered an extensive degree of fire damage to the thatched roof structure, ceilings and walling.

An initial structural appraisal established the extent the existing structure suitable for retention, which with close consultation with the Conservation Officer was agreed, along with the construction to be adopted for those areas totally lost.

The following brief was to prepare full reconstruction details, specification, tender documentation, invite competitive tenders, award the contract and administer the project through to completion. Whilst at all times closely liasing with the Loss Adjusters acting on behalf of the property insurers, the conservation officer and the client.

Importantly the speed of response at all stages was essential to limit the consequential trading losses and
to return the business to the former position.
